About Bible Characters

What is it?

Learn about the characters of the Bible in a simple and interactive way.

How it works

Browse or search for characters. Then read, listen and test your knowledge.

Why we made it

Learning about the characters of the Bible should be fun and easy.

More about the project

Bible Characters is made for anyone who wants to learn who the people in the Bible are, whether you are young, new to the Bible, new in faith, or simply want a clearer overview.

With Bible Characters you can search, click, and find long biblical stories summarized into short texts. There are sections where you can learn fun facts and test your knowledge with quizzes. If you want to delve deeper into a character or an event, you can see where to find them in the Bible below the texts or at the bottom of each character page.

The number of characters in the Bible can be overwhelming, so we suggest you start with some of the most significant ones, like Jesus, Adam, God or Moses. Happy exploring!

A note for parents, teachers, and new readers

We write with younger readers and beginners in mind, but the site is not only for children. It is also made for families, churches, schools, and people who are new to faith or new to reading the Bible.

The Bible includes both hopeful and difficult stories. Some character pages describe events such as sin, conflict, violence, death, suffering, and serious choices in a direct way. We try to keep the explanations clear and educational, avoid unnecessary graphic detail, and help readers understand the people, faith, repentance, and hope found in the stories.
